And I thought Catholic School uniforms were bad…

Forget those self-cuffing t-shirts we wore at Fontbonne, or the wool skirt we wore year round, Freshman & Sophomore year.  Every single child in a school in Australia (or at least Sydney and the surrounding areas) has to wear a uniform to school.  And not just any uniform…in summer girls wear dresses & hats (yes hats!):

Is this math class or are we going on a Safari?

And boys look like Curious George’s bestfriend with knee highs and yes HATS!  Every school has it’s own uniform but all are pretty similar, in winter they all have blazers instead of hats, and girls change to skirts instead of dresses.  Now this is all cute when the children are say under 10/11, but seriously 16/17/18 year old boys knee high socks?  Only my brother can pull that off:

Then again, maybe school uniforms are a good idea?!?
