Christmas Day!!

First off:

Second:  I went to 9pm service this evening, not mass.  My home-stay family go to the Anglican church in nearby Lindfield, NSW so I joined them this evening.  The service was not much different from a Catholic mass, however the crowd was a bit younger and they had a band leading the hymns/carols with guitars, drums and a keyboard.  It was also a bit shorter with no Eucharist served.  I did a bit of research and the two religions aren’t much different, with Henry VIII being the brainchild of the Anglican Church when he broke away from the Catholic Church.

It was a nice service but there was one curveball “The First Nowell”:

No-well??? Seriously?  Apparently the English found another word they can make in to their own.   My favourite part was that in the hymn book they had the hymn typed out in the Old English, but had the word art “Noel” down the side of the page….consistency people!

OK now time for bed, Santa will be here in the morning.  Yay for NFL and Christmas Day!

Love to all my family and friends back home, I hope Santa treats you well, and I miss you all!
